The York University School of Global Health (YSGH) seeks to ensure that the principles and practices of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are core to our School’s vision and living culture.
As such, we aim to create a Coalition of Support that empowers EDI at the YSGH, including a student-led working group on EDI.
Over the next six months, we will craft a vision statement that can be revisited on a regular basis through an open and collaborative dialogic process as a starting point to our School’s commitment to EDI.
This will include active and open consultation with students, faculty, staff, and our broader community.
To start, we will co-sponsor a Seminar Series on “Decolonizing Global Health” in partnership with the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research as well as other events and consultations such as a Public Lecture on ‘Equity, Health and Human Rights’ and student circles where we seek to listen, learn, and develop a collective platform for action.
